The four double, en-suite rooms are all individually decorated but share the same air of calmness and ease. Natural fabrics in rich creams brightened with unexpected touches of colour make the rooms a delight to spend time in. You may never want to leave. The rooms are situated on the second storey of this gracious home, and are reached via a central staircase. One room has a separate entrance from the garden. Constantia is one of the oldest suburbs in Cape Town and is situated on what used to be the farm of Simon van der Stel, early governor of the Cape Colony. Nestled against the southern slopes of Table Mountain this leafy and well-preserved suburb is quiet and tranquil, yet by no means isolated from the rest of the Peninsula. Indeed, Constantia is so conveniently situated that most destinations are a mere 20 to 30 minutes' drive away. With Kaapse Draai as your home base, the Constantia Wine Route comprising renowned wine estates Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia and Buitenverwachting is five minutes away by car. Hout Bay and the famous Chapman's Peak Drive to Noordhoek, said to be one of the most spectacular drives in the world, are 20 minutes away while Cape Town itself with its bustling Waterfront development and historic Bo-Kaap Malay suburb will take you 25 minutes by car. If you're heading further south a scenic drive along Boyes Drive will take you through the quaint little 'villages' of Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, Simon's Town and Boulders
