Description
J & M Construction are a specialist steel fabrication team based in Nelspruit Mpumalanga. Fabrication of steel components and products for industrial, mining and plant maintenance, from steel flanges and pipelines to prefabricated sections for the construction industry.
Company description
We started this venture from the ground with two staff members in the year 2001
J & M started their first contracts repairing Loggers in Bands Laagte. Jan did the work and Mari the admin, often assisting Jan in the bush.
The contracts started coming in, today a few years later, we are standing strong thanks to our loyal customers. Today we have big contracts with both local and international companies

Building steel structures, aircraft hangers, stores and steel sheeting
Building and constructing steel bridges, balustrades, palisades, tankers, steel walkways and steel fencing.
Manufacturing stainless steel, nozzles and flanges.
Manufacturing and repairing conveyors, conveyor covers, cat ladders and grating
Manufacturing stainless steel structures, of different grades – 314, 306, 3CR12
Rolling, bending and cutting steel and stainless steel sheeting.

Jan Hanekom
Initially qualified as a Boilermaker and Sheet metal worker. Jan was a top student, he qualified as one of the top three achievers in 1981. He worked for Dorbyl for a few years where he acquired a huge amount of experience.
Lethabo Power Station, a mining company, made him a good offer, which he accepted and he went on to enhance his ability in the trade even more.
He finally left for MCC where he received intensive training as a welder, fitter and rigger.
