Sometimes life-changing events, for instance divorce, the death of a loved one, a miscarriage, trauma and retrenchment, can be overwhelming and can lead to depression, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, or even suicide thoughts and attempts.

Sometimes people might find it hard to manage their anger, do not know how to deal with their children's behaviour or feel that their life is without meaning.

Therapy is a process that can help people to deal with this and to become more aware of, and to change emotional, thought and behaviour patterns that have an influence on the way people deal with life.

Children cannot always tell adults how they feel or what they are going through, but their internal world is displayed through their behaviour, for instance bed-wetting, anger outbursts and tantrums, crying spells and being oppositional. In these cases play therapy is a non-intrusive way to help children heal.
