Description
Heydenrychs are passionate about quality, we always have been.
It all started back in Jansenville in 1905. During the depression years Freddie Heydenrych was asked by his father Johan Frederik Heydenrych to assist him in his butcher and grocer business. Freddie lovingly obliged in order to help the family make ends meet. Trade was slow and a taxi business was started between Jansenville and the closest railway station at Klipplaat. An enduring labour of love and undeniable work ethic meant that Freddie worked literally day and night. The taxi business made overnight weekly meat deliveries to Port Elizabeth possible by train, servicing dozens of customers. Some of these customers remained loyal for twenty years and longer.
