Gold Reef Speciality Chemicals manufactures and markets a range of speciality chemicals for a diverse range of applications in various industries including Textiles, Carpets, Paint, Adhesives, Paper, Water Treatment, Mining, Detergents, Ceramics and Sugar.

Its products include coatings, finishers, emulsion binders for woven and non – woven textiles; binders, thickeners and additives for paints, paper and adhesives; antiscalants and dispersants for industrial water treatment, slurry thinning dispersants in mining; rheology modifiers and sequestrants for use in detergents; and deflocculants for ceramics, and descalers and massecuite reducers in the sugar industry.

Company description

Its main technology base is pure acrylic copolymers, styrene acrylic copolymers, vinyl acetate homo and co – polymers of acrylics and versatates, polyacrylic acids, and various surfactants. Its manufacturing facility is one of the best in Africa and meets all the requirements of the ISO 9000 standards. Gold Reef is in a continual upgrade program to meet world class production standards. Gold Reef is a member of the Responsible Care initiative and is strongly involved in the community environmental safe working practices. It is currently in the process of attaining the ISO 14000 standard.

Gold Reef is a home grown South African company that has poised itself to take advantage of both local and export volumes. It is primarily a bulk chemical supplier. It is situated in Kwazulu Natal where the busiest harbour in Africa is housed. Its export focus takes it to Rest of Africa, Australasia, Europe, and Middle East. The export potential is beckoning and Gold Reef plans to grow this sales segment in the future, and further capitalise on its strength in diversity
