Description
Guest House and fully licensed Pub in a lovely tropical Garden setting. The Gold Nugget Guesthouse is known for it's good service and hospitality. It was originally named after the famous Gold Nugget (Peacock Gold Nugget) weighing 179 ounces, found by prospector HW Peacock in 1912 at Kaapsche Hoop near Barberton. Barberton is well known for it's Gold Mining activities, as well as the ancient rock formations dating back billions of years, and of course the Barbeton Daisy which was discovered here in 1884 by Robert Jameson, after whom the Daisy was named 'Gerbera Jamesonii'.

Facilities: On-suite Rooms, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Lapa with BBQ facilities, Pool Table, Hospitality Trays in all rooms, TV by arrangement and in Pub & Lounge. Lunch can be ordered from a small pub menu and Dinner is available on request.
We are Motorcycle friendly and welcome Gay people and Families. Small Pets are welcome by arrangement.
Activities and Attractions in the Area: Hiking, Paragliding, Birding (Blue Swallow), Motorcycling, Quad Biking, Mountain Biking, 4x4 Trails, Fishing, Chimp Eden, Gold Panning & Mine Tours, Game Drives/Kruger Park, Museums, Wild Horses at Kaapsche Hoop and Microlighting over the crater.
Location: Barberton is a small town in Mpumalanga, about 43km from Nelspruit and 46km from the new Mbombela 2010 Soccer Stadium. This beautiful little town is close to the Swaziland Border (Josefsdal) and en route to Mozambique and the Kruger National Park, which is only an hours' drive away from here. To the west, the scenic Route 38 through the mountains will take you to the warm springs of Badplaas.
