GeoZone GeoServices specialises in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical instrumentation, ground engineering and rockfall protection systems for the mining and civil engineering industries. We have established a close working relationship with SISGeo Geotechnical Instrumentation in Italy and Geobrugg in Switzerland, which allows us to tap into a wealth of knowledge and expertise when it comes to designing geotechnical systems. We have gained experience on numerous projects on 3 continents, but our focus is Southern Africa where we have been active for the last 5 years with some of our staff members drawing on experience in excess of 25 years. We have been involved in a number of large projects including the Chapman’s Peak upgrade, the Gautrain, the Wild Coast N2 route, instrumenenting the Nacala Dam in Mozambique and the Lesotho Highlands Project. One of our key strengths is our geotechnical background, which allows us to integrate geotechnical principles with the nuts and bolts of designing and implementing geotechnical systems. Due to the nature of our business we need to stay current with a range of technologies, particularly from an instrumentation point of view as the field is always in a state of flux and development. GeoZone GeoServices is in the business to provide well thought out, cost effective solutions for any geotechnical problem and we manage this by establishing a dialogue with our clients. We are here to listen, assess, discuss and only then to suggest a solution. In most instances there is a need to scientifically build a geotechnical model into which the necessary parameters are plugged and out of which a solution can be derived. This often takes time and solid geotechnical mapping and data collection before we can arrive at a final design, with our ultimate aim being to provide cost effective, workable solutions to any geotechnical problem.
