Alan & Lorna have been operating a family run Riding Centre on their farm for many years & received numerous requests from people wanting to come & stay with them so they decided to launch Fat Pony Backpackers & Riding School- a family friendly budget hostel just 30 mins from Cape Town & conveniently, 10 mins from local trainstation. Their location, 10 minutes from N1- (Exit 34) makes them an ideal base for exploring Cape Town, Cape Winelands & the mountains of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Wellington & Paarl.
If you prefer quiet to the hustle & bustle of Cape Town's hostels, clubs & bars then Fat Pony is the haven for you. You can enjoy a warm, friendly welcome & relax in spacious, airy, hot water shower ensuite, mixed dorms with windows which open & heating for cool winter months. All bed linens are provided & towels are available to hire.
Fat Pony Backpackers & Riding Centre offers activities from Horse Riding & Pony Trails with Outrides through the scenic Cape Winelands- Lorna is BHSAI & EQASA qualified so you can be assured you're in very capable hands!
