Eljada Restoration Centre & Mission, Vredenburg

Situated on an active West Coast farm between Saldanha Bay and Vredenburg, we have been operational since 2006. Our Christian faith-based restoration program has helped literally hundreds of women to take their lives back from the clutches of addiction and other self-destructive behaviours.
The restoration centre is a female only facility.
We see self-destructive tendencies, such as addiction, as the direct response to an unmet spiritual need: a misguided search for love, acceptance and wholeness. Our Christian faith-based program is an extension from the original 12 Step Programme - also called the Minnessota Model. The emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical aspects of recovery are holistically addressed.

We have a professional and talented staff of 10 full and part time members whose aim is to restore by training, thus the program is presented by way of interactive lectures in a comfortable group setting. We encourage residents to see themselves as Students, since they are here to learn about Life, and life in abundance (John 10:10). Thus we do not refer to residents as addicts, victims, clients or patients but as Students. To qualify for acceptance we look for an attitude of teachability, as you will note on the application form.

In addition to life skills training, individual counseling is offered by graduated professionals.

We are very aware of the fact that families can be torn apart by the destructive behaviour of a troubled member. For this reason we offer trauma counseling to family members as well as regular feedback on the progress of the resident.

The basic Program takes 12 weeks to complete.
