Ah yes, Vodacom De Ville Centre - where customer service goes to die peacefully in the corner while the staff have a group chat in real life. If I never have to go there again, it will still be too soon. I walked in and not a single person even attempted the ancient art of greeting a customer. The consultant helping me confidently informed me she had already dealt with my colleague regarding the company I was there for… except I repeatedly explained that I was the one handling it and dealing with a different branch. Apparently listening is an optional add on service. The team then started their lively discussion and comedy special about lighting while assisting me. Glad someone was having fun. Then came the SIM swap saga. Despite confirming all the business details correctly and presenting literally everything else she needed, she refused to process it because the contact number I presented was off by ONE digit. One tiny digit. Heaven forbid a solid solution could’ve been offered, like assisting me and allowing me to send the corrected letter once I got back to the office. To top it all off, she was also about to overcharge me for the SIM swap - something I only discovered after going to another branch where they treated me like a human being instead of an inconvenience. Honestly, the only thing swapped that day was my patience for irritation. Would recommend if you enjoy confusion, attitude, and side quests before noon.
