Bill Matthews Construction, Cape Town

The scope of work that we undertake is mainly residential but we have tackled a fair amount of industrial, commercial and civil work too! Bill Matthews Construction (BMC) is owned and managed by Bill Matthews. Bill graduated with a Building Science degree from UCT in 1979. Thereafter he worked for a Civil Engineering company (Futurus Engineering in JHB) for 4 years and then for a Construction company in Cape Town (Edlyn Construction Cape) for a further 2 years, after which, he decided to form his own business. The BMC sites are managed by Contracts Manager, Mr. Devon Hansen who looks after a core permanent workforce of 4 bricklayers, 2 carpenters, 4 painters and 10 labourers which can however, be increased should the project require it. Specialist activities such as Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Joinery, etc are subcontracted out to a core group of subcontractors with whom we have solid relationships.
