Self inrichment of the management, there is no community development and the mine is operating every day. The poverty is still remain as it is. There is no skills development.

Description
BHP Billiton was approached by the DMR to support a poverty alleviation project for the Ba- Ga Phadima Sand Mining Primary Co-operative headed by Chief Dioka in May 2008. The Ba-Ga Phadima Sand Mining Co-operation together with Laxey and Dithakong Co-operatives has been awarded the Mining Rights License by the DMR to mine River Sand in the banks of Moshaweng river channels and neighbouring villages. BHP Billiton committed to support this project by providing start up support to the value of R6 Million (this money was to be used to purchase equipment, business development and set up costs.)
