Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC, Strathavon

The Association was established to:
• Promote the use of the procedure of arbitration as a means of determining disputes; • Provide a body of competent and experienced ADR specialists for appointment as required; • Assist ADR specialists in the efficient discharge of their duties; and
• Make ADR more effective.

The Association possesses the expertise to mediate, adjudicate and arbitrate in matters related to the following industries/areas:
• Construction; • Agriculture; • Financial; • Legal; • Medical; • Mining; • Property; • Sectional title; • Sport.

Members who have relevant qualifications are appointed to specialist panels in the above fields.

The Association is a Recognised Course Provider (RCP) for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London and our Arbitration Certificate and Fellowship Admission Courses are internationally accredited. Our Mediation Training is also internationally accredited. Regular lectures and events are held at our branches in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, with well-known presenters, such as Prof David Butler, Alastair Hay and Chris Binnington, increasing the knowledge and expertise of our members and the public.

The Association has affordable and well-equipped venue hire in Sandown (Sandton) available for meetings, hearings and training.
