Anchor Creek Marina, Deneysville

This place is absolutely terrible and a total waste of money and time. There is no on site security so "secure parking" as advertised is a load of nonsense. The bathroom and room smelt terrible (like sewerage); the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the sheet had a hole in it and a stain; the room was tiny; there is no television in the room (even though there is a television advertised under room facilities on Sleeping-out.co.za) and no bedside tables or lamps so reading is impossible due to a huge shelf above the bed blocking the light; not even a teaspoon to make coffee, the kettle has to be boiled on the floor because of the way the plugs are placed, the grounds need a total clean up as it looks like a dump site with all sorts of zinc, parts, etc. lying around; the lady with the blonde hair in the restaurant was fantastic and extremely apologetic but I found the owner to be unaccommodating and unapologetic when I emailed with my complaints. He was “not available” when I wanted to discuss the issues with him before I left the establishment on Saturday (08/10/16). Overall, I would not recommend this establishment until they address their issues, revamp, clean and sort the place out. It is extremely sad that the place has been left to deteriorate and that the facilities are not up to standard considering I paid R700 per night (booked and paid for 2 nights and only ended up staying 1 night because of the issues) The setting is so peaceful and the view of the dam is amazing. Prime location but below standard accommodation. Definitely NOT AS ADVERTISED people!!!!!

Awesome place, did some fishing for the weekend. We stayed in the tended house and it was a great experience. Would maybe have liked a pool but the rides were fun. My only problem was the rude lady at the restaurant with the short strawberrie blond hair. I think she could benefit from a course on people skills. But overall valeu for money. The cleaning staff and maintenance staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great experience.
