Description
Our easily accessible “school on the hill” is located in safe surroundings offering an attractive setting including panoramic sea views. The school traditionally serves the area of Kingsburgh and Amanzimtoti. Over the years we have focused on creating a caring, friendly environment designed to nurture every individual in our school.
We believe that each of our learners has the right to the best education possible but this right must be balanced by the acceptance of certain responsibilities.
This balance is encapsulated in our school badge. We actively encourage all our learners to strive for these ideals.
Brand consciousness is a reality of our world, whether it's music, motor vehicles or muesli. When a product needs to be re-launched, re-branding is what happens. 2005 saw the start of that process as regards the school itself.
It began with the letter-head. It now features a new symbol and appellation. The polygonal turret and its surrounding rampart, which is an architectural feature of the original part of the school building, is accompanied by the wording The School on the Hill.
The pencil sketch of the turret and its surroundings was expertly executed by Mr Robert Vorster. He matriculated from the school in 1988 and was doing locum work in 2005 while our regular art teacher was on accouchement leave.
