Working as a photographer and filmmaker in Durban and the areas surrounding Durban it has become very clear that there is a need for business mentorship and support for community based photographers and filmmakers.

In each of the communities, these photographers work and document the lives of everyday people. Some of these communities are living stories of how human spirit triumphs despite the poverty that surrounds it.

We want to tell this story but more importantly we want to develop an enterprise model that will create direct and indirect benefits by empowering local community-based photographers. These benefits would include providing them with suitable equipment, training and mentorship from skilled mentors and access to opportunities to build their community through the development of sustainable small, micro- and medium size enterprises.
