To answer your questions: 1. You cannot escape from learning grammar; as it is vital in every sentence you read or write, speak or hear. By understanding the correct grammar rules, it will enable you to put words together in a sensible order, thus allowing you to speak confidently and fluently, whilst adding the right endings. You will know how to avoid errors, by producing combinations of sounds and letters that others can understand. This will aid you at home, at work and in your social life. You can use English Grammar to learn English by learning as many words as you can, then using this when speaking to people. You can put together all the words into parts of speech, as the parts of speech will tell you how to use the word in a sentence: noun, pronoun, adjective, article, verb, adverb, conjunction, preposition and interjection. When you identify words, like parts of speech, you get a better idea of how words come together in a sentence - watch movies and television shows. On another note: by identifying patterns in a sentence, you will better understand regular and irregular conjugation (bake – baked) or verb forms in simple present, past and future, so that you can start practising with present perfect, past perfect, and past continuous.

I developed this course, because I found that many students/artists find it difficult to understand how to produce an American accent which sounds “natural” and not too “over the top”. I found that the General American English or General American (abbreviated GA or GenAm) is known as the umbrella accent of American English, which is spoken by a majority of Americans. This is the best GA accent to teach as it is lacking in any distinctly regional, ethnic, or socioeconomic characteristics. The GA accent contains a myriad of accents rather than a single unified accent. This course focuses on establishing a General American sounding voice. I have trained many actors, including private individuals who work abroad, seeking to broaden their Accent Skills so as to adapt and be better understood. In this course I will be looking at the way you speak, and develop a personalised program which will help develop your voice whilst eliminating any speech impediments. I use basic drama exercises as a foundation to help you understand all the elements of correct speech. The exercises will help you achieve great results and because it uses muscle memory you will be able to retain your results in the long run. We aim to improve and make you aware of your spoken accuracy, so that YOU can SOUND clear, confident, engaging, dynamic, expressive and persuasive. When your voice achieves these qualities, not only is the effect empowering; because, you now experience greater success and confidence in meetings, presentations, public speaking engagements, training, interviews and sales pitches.

This course helps young adolescents to develop their voice whilst eliminating any speech impediments. The course was devised on the basis of using drama exercises (as a template), because I dealt with a lot of students who don’t understand what is expected of them when correcting voice. When using drama exercises this helps them to understand (in laymen’s terms) all elements which constitutes correct speech. The exercises in the course focuses on combining an arrangement of concepts, which will help them, achieve great results.
