The Verco KBS Series submersible slurry pump from Multinet can pump corrosive and/or abrasive slurries in the mining and process industries. The pump has a four-pole motor for increased lifetime, and an agitator designed for tough applications. Since water always follows the path of least resistance, a pump without mechanical agitation will only pump the water, leaving the solids behind to accumulate around the pump intake, eventually starving the pump by blocking the intake. Agitator pumps deliver kinetic energy to slurry solids surrounding the pump intake, re-suspending them into a fluid state. These solids, which would otherwise have buried and starved the pump of liquid, are pulled into the pump and pushed out through the discharge, keeping the intake clear and free of slurry accumulation.
