HID AND LED LIGHTING:
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) is typically used when there is a need to cover vast amounts of the area such as a sports field. They produce more visible light per unit of energy than any other system.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology has a higher upfront cost but with that comes a lot of benefits. The first will be a much higher life expectancy of +-100 000 hours versus the other technologies.
The amount of parts needed in the system is also fewer meaning a lower maintenance cost. LED technology is extremely energy efficient when compared to all other systems.
In 2019 Trompie started a production line for sportsfield lighting. We design, manufacture and install state-of-the-art lighting systems and offer a variety of LED and HID solutions to clients. We completed several high profile lighting projects for Astro hockey and soccer fields up to 500 Lux.
