The Mangosteen (Garcinia Mangostana) originates from tropical areas of South East Asia - Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and China. The fruit has a smooth dark purple skin (called the pericarp) with a white segmented mandarine-like flesh inside. The Pericarp (rind) and the fruit of the Mangosteen contain high levels of Polyphenols and Xanthones (both potent antioxidants). Producing mangosteen juice from the rind (pericarp), flesh and kernel of the fresh mangosteen fruit is called the “Whole Fruit Technique” which is a complex production process.
