The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is an internationally recognised accountancy body with an emphasis on the development of the management accounting profession. CIMA has 172,000 members and students in 165 countries. Is CIMA for me? Most accounting qualifications prepare people for private practice working on external audit and tax issues. The CIMA syllabus is designed to prepare employees for a career in business with an emphasis on strategy, with many Chartered Management Accountants contributing in all areas of an organisation. CIMA covers topics that other accountancy qualifications don't, for example resource management, applied management accounting techniques and marketing operations. This qualification is ideal for those with a desire to develop business and financial strategy skills. Qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant will not only allow you to strengthen your position in the market place by giving you the expertise to do so, but will also allow you to add significant value to your organisation.
