Learn to Earn runs a bag manufacturing project. We are a not-for-profit organization committed to the upliftment of socially and economically underprivileged groups in South Africa, through skills training, job creation and development of small businesses. Our students arrive at Learn to Earn not having the exposure and skill set they require to be employed. Through a holistic approach to development we look at the whole person - spiritually, emotionally, socially and economically. As an organisation we focus on relationships and practically bridging the educational, social and economic divides in our society. Our organisational culture is to rebuild the self-esteem, dignity and self-respect of all we come into contact with. We achieve this through a programme that offers practical and market related training in relevant skills combined with life skills, business skills and discipleship training. We are based in Khayelitsha and our vision is to eradicate unemployment by teaching people skills, one of the skills we teach is sewing. If you are in need of conference bags, corporate gifts or any other sewing related projects, please contact us. We will be more than happy to try meet your needs. We teach our students how to sew, then once they graduate from the sewing course, we employ them (for most, it is their very first income) and teach them how to make bags which we then sell to clients. All proceeds go straight back into the project to keep it sustainable. We believe in giving people a hand up, not a hand out. We have been around for 26 years and would really appreciate your support in up-skilling the unemployed people in South Africa.
