Hi there! I am a registered counselling psychologist based in Claremont, Cape Town. I work with children, aged 4 and above, as well as teenagers and adults. With regards to adults, I provide both individual therapy as well as parental guidance. I also offer a broad range of assessments. I am also contracted to Careways. People seek therapy for an extremely broad range of reasons. Some of the issues I assist with include: • Emotional difficulties such as problematic anger, stress, anxiety or depression • Trauma • Bereavement • Occupational/ scholastic difficulties • Adjustment issues • Relationship problems • Low self-esteem I work eclectically in order to accommodate the unique needs and preferences of each client. To this end, I draw from my training in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and narrative therapeutic orientations. Together we will explore your thoughts, behaviours, emotions, past experiences and social dynamics in order to facilitate increased well-being. Therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes long, once a week. I offer both short-term and longer term processes, depending on your needs. Medical aid rates apply, with a 12.5% discount for clients who are paying privately.
