Our portfolio broadly includes biodiversity assessment, best practice construction environmental management and protected area management. Initially started as a close corporation, we’ve grown tremendously and have converted to a private company in 2007. The company is 34% BEE owned and was recently verified as a Level 1 BEE contributor company. The Nature Conservation Corporation is owned by: Dean Ferreira, Kareemah Jacobs, Justin Miller and Linden Rhoda. An interesting mix of people and as Dean always says, “two of which lead with their heads and the other two with their hearts”. We are privileged to have 55 environmental managers and nature conservators among us, specializing either in environmental management, ecology or conservation management interventions. We are members of the International Association of Impact Assessors and Green Building Council SA and some of our colleagues are members of the Botanical Society of South Africa and the Game Rangers Association of Africa. Our head office is in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, below the Steenberg Mountain, and we work across southern Africa.

VISION Christian Compassion - We are a neighbour to everyone in need. MISSION Badisa is a ministry of compassion for the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa (Western and Southern Cape) and the Uniting Reformed Church (Cape Province) and is value driven with Jesus Christ as role model. In collaboration with congregations and other role players Badisa, as a non-profit organisation: provides excellent, professional, expert and support services to people and communities in need; and establishes development programmes, striving to enable consumers/clients the opportunity to function optimally. VALUES Due to its strong roots in Christianity the organisation is a value driven organisation. The following four core values have formed a strong corporate value foundation upon which the organisation and its employees operate daily: Commitment to serve We serve people in need according to the example set by Jesus Christ, the Great Servant. We strive to render a relevant, affordable and quality service. We put the interests, rights and needs of our stakeholders first. Our service is accessible to all people, irrespective of race, religion, gender or age. Justice We aim to treat everyone fairly and equally and avoid all forms of discrimination. Fellow staff and consumers of the service will be treated with dignity and respect at all times. Corrections and adjustments will be done on merit and with the utmost transparency and accountability. Excellence We aim to provide others with the absolute best service, and therefore all staff members will be worthy of and loyal to their positions. We aim to render a quality service, which includes complying with due dates, ensuring correct documents and well-planned services. Our services will be relevant, sustainable and efficient. We will maintain a participatory management style and work together as a team on all levels of the organisation to create a positive spirit and culture.
