My review is for Astrid Sadler who is a doctor at this practice. My daughter was her patient as she is the only one who subscribed to our medical aid's Beryl plan. She has a dreadful bedside manner but I overlooked that to my detriment. My daughter suffered from mental illness but visited Sadler for other complaints. In 2018 she developed severe headaches for which we tried everything including three visits to Astrid Sadler. On the last visit I accompanied my daughter to try and persuade the doctor to send her for a scan. At that stage my daughter was vomiting with neck pain and vision issues. Sadler again put it down to stress and send her away with painkillers. The result of this arrogant dismissal of a debilitating condition was that on 25 August 2019 my daughter suffered a massive stroke and seizure. She had a brain embolism. In spite of surgical intervention she passed away on 30 August 2019. When I was able to write I lodged an investigation with the HPCSA. They found for Sadler but did not supply reasons for their decision. I am writing this to say that anyone using this doctor must self-advocate and be firm. Do not allow her to dismiss your problems. She is not a God. Her actions have destroyed an entire family for whom my daughter was a priceless treasure. To add insult to injury Sadler vowed to reveal confidential information on my daughter should the complaint to HPCSA not go away. Be warned.
