DOMESTIC WORKER PAYROLL SOLUTION
As required by law any person making use of a domestic worker which works more than 24 hours in a month should register as an employer with the Department of Labour and comply with the following;
• UIF must be deducted monthly at a rate of 1% and 1% must be contributed by the Employer
• Payments along with the declaration form must be submitted to Department of Labour monthly
• An Employer has to give a payslip to the domestic worker when the salary is paid

The salary calculation overview
Salary is calculated based on days worked at a prescribed rate
o 1% employee deduction for UIF
o 1% employer contribution for UIF
o 1% Admin Fee (minimum R15.00)
Example
If you pay a domestic Worker R2,000.00 per Month;
Basic Salary = R2,000.00
UIF Employee = R20.00
UIF Employer = R20.00
Admin Fee = R20.00
Nett Salary = R1,980.00
Cost to You (Employer) = R2,040.00 per month
